Welcome to the Terrace End School 125th Jubilee Print

Terrace End School opened its doors in March 1884 and in March 2009 we will be celebrating 125 years of history in Palmerston North. The 125th Celebration committee invites participation by all who have been involved with Terrace End School as pupils, staff, parents or friends, or in any capacity.

If you are planning on coming along and have not yet registered please do so ASAP.  Online registrations are now closed if you would still like to register please pop into the school office as soon as possible or give us a call on (06) 3579950

The school has a proud history and a significant place in the history of Palmerston North. All who have an association with it have something in common, and this will be a great chance to share memories, meet past and present pupils and staff, and to mark the occasion.

The team who have put this event together look forward to seeing you, to sharing with you, and to your help in making this a memorable occasion.

On this website you will find the programme outline and a registration form, and other information about the event. Also there is a gallery space. Please remember to register early - early confirmation of numbers is important and we ask that you help us with this.

The Committee is also working on a Reunion book. If you have anything you would like to share with us (stories or items of interest) please call us 06 357 9950 or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

We look forward to seeing you in March 2009.

Terrace End School children are proud to be a part of the upcoming 125 year celebrations. We will focus our learning on the changes there have been during the time our school has been in Palmerston North; The last 125 years!!

We are looking forward to interviewing and reporting, to learning some crafts, activities, and games any grandparents may have practiced and played. It would be great if visitors to our school come and see us at work in our classrooms on the Saturday of the celebrations. Perhaps we may remind you of some of the games you may have played at our school when you were here, or even tempt you to have another go and show us how its done.

Looking forward to the future!

We want to prepare our children of today to be adults of the 21st Century. Learning has always been exciting but the variety of experiences and speed of change our young people have to contend with is mind blowing. As a result, we are intending to explore more learning opportunities by using laptops, the internet, digital cameras and data projectors. By enabling our children to make good choices, and empowering them to explore and search for opportunities we hope they will be well set up to move to the next level of education when they leave our school. An upgrade of our school’s ICT facilities is going to be the major focus for our Strategic Plan over the next few years and we are hoping that past affiliates of Terrace End School will be able to play a role in this. Please consider making a donation towards this exciting move forward for Terrace End School. This could be your opportunity to contribute to the education of New Zealand’s future successful adults, champions and high achievers. The children, staff and I look forward to seeing you all in March 2009.

Registrations recieved after Monday the 23rd of Febuary will include a $25 late fee.
