Dear Parents and Caregivers
He mihi mahana ki a koutou katoa! Warm greetings to you all.
Roll Growth Welcome to the new families who have just started at our school this week.
With these extra children we are now nearly in a position to open another classroom. This is a great opportunity for us at Terrace End School. We will be able to drop our class numbers as they have got high lately. Some of our children will change classes and letters will be sent home to inform families as soon as we have made our decisions.
ICT Infrastructure The two businesses we have been working with over the last four weeks have been very professional. It has been a pleasure having them in our school. They intend to be mostly completed by this week. Our server has been shifted and we are now able to hook up to the internet through our new plugs and wiring systems. Next steps for our school are to establish effective wireless in the rooms and replace some of our aged computers.
Iron Brion 12th August Thursday This is a demonstration about eating healthy food. Iron Brion comes to our school and then makes hamburgers which all the children get to eat for lunch. There will be no cost for this show. We need 6-8 parents to help Iron Brion, if you are able to help we would like to hear from you. You will need to be at School by 12.30pm for a 1.30pm show. Families you are welcome to come along and watch the show.
Duffy Books Drama 11th August Again this year the Duffy Book team are popping into TES school to present their latest show. We always love these performances, the actors and presenters are very clever. The show is always great fun and we all laugh lots. Again we have no cost on this production and families are welcome.
Cath Bee Songwriter Friday 13th August We are lucky to be able to get Cath, a well known song writer come and share her work with us. We sing many of her songs at school so the children will be familiar with her music. This “expert visitor” does incur a cost which we have kept as minimal as we possibly can. The $1.00 a head charge helps towards these costs.
Hip Hop
On Thursday afternoon we were treated to an awesome presentation of dance hip hop style. Everyone was totally enthralled to see the energy and expertise of movement. We are hoping to bring some hip hop dance instruction into our school as part of our unit on dance.
Windmills Thanks to those children who participated in this challenge. We have presented the winners with their prizes at assembly today. Congratulations to our four winners.
Have a fantastic weekend !!
